Waverly is busy learning her letters and numbers. She likes to match the ones that are the same and can name several letters and numerals. Her favorites are the letter W, for Waverly and the number, 3. That's how old she'll be on Tuesday, August 5th.
It's math and science day at Maga's. Waverly loves "making families" with Maga's shells, and everything else. She's really into sorting...by color, shape, size and other common attributes. She also counts with one to one correspondence most of the time.
Waverly's favorite grouping is the shells where you hear the ocean.
Maga's favorite grouping is the shells with holes.
Another math concept that Waverly explored was size. Which is bigger, the shell or her foot? She also put smaller" baby" shells inside the bigger "momma" shells. :-) 
Waverly will have a Princess Party for her third birthday.
She has the tiara! But, which princess should she be???
Belle, of Beauty and the Beast fame???
Cinderella??? Sleeping Beauty?? Ariel?? Snow White??
Since she has all the costumes the decision is a difficult one. The real question, however, is whether Maga will be the witch from Snow White or Cinderella's Fairy Godmother. Watch for the party photos!!!
Then she went into the playroom to find interesting things to photograph.
Didn't she do well for her first try??? Maybe Santa will have to bring her a camera of her own.

We helped my friend Noelle celebrate her first birthday with a party at the park. Here she is with cake all over her face. I liked the frosting flowers. Yum! 
I also played on the playground,
rested , 
helped her open her gifts,
and gave her a hug good-bye. 
Charlton missed all the fun and just slept. Charlton, don't you want to see the ba-doons?
